Anita Li is an assistant professor at University of Massachusetts Lowell. Anita graduated with her doctorate in Psychology from Western Michigan University. She earned her Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida Institute of Technology.

Anita has worked in a variety of settings in Central Florida, ranging from in-center, in-home, to consulting. She was introduced to behavior analysis while working as a research assistant in the behavior analysis department at University of Florida and worked in the areas of developmental disabilities, functional analyses, drug administration, and animal training. Anita was first introduced to Applied Behavior Analysis at the Sidney Lanier School and ARC in Gainesville, Florida where she worked with adults and children with specials needs. After this experience, she fell in love with helping others succeed and learn in order to have a better quality of life. After receiving her Bachelors in Psychology, Anita went onto receive her BCaBA certification in 2011.

Anita’s experiences have included severe behaviors, early intervention, social skills, functional communication training, verbal behavior training, instructional design, parent training, staff training, and functional analyses. Anita has also supervised individuals locally and remotely pursuing certification since 2013.

With her clients, Anita hopes to bring meaningful behavior change that are functional and important to increase quality of life by collaborating with parents and other professionals. In addition, she’s interested in staff training on ABA applications in order to ensure student success and generalization of skills across multiple settings. Anita has created several trainings on behavior analytic procedures and principles and has trained individuals working with special populations. She was previously Clinical Director at Lodestone Academy where she was responsible for overseeing client progress, programming, and supervising behavior specialists and technicians. Anita also has experience with conducting numerous assessments and curriculum such as VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, Essential for Living, and PEAK. She values evidence-based practices and promoting effective and scientifically-based procedures with her clients.

Anita has also presented over 30 times at national and state conferences and is an active researcher. She has published in Behavior Analysis in Practice, the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, Behavioral Interventions, Experimental and Clinical  Psychopharmacology, and Behavior Analysis: Research and Practice.  As a faculty member, she hopes to foster critical thinking and science-informed decision-making in her students. In her classes, she emphasizes active responding and meaningful student outcomes to help her students pursue careers in Psychology and Behavior Analysis.

In her spare time, Anita enjoys reading, cooking, playing with her dogs, and watching movies.
